Alex started out his film career in 2004, when he starred in The Oyster Farmer as Jack Flange. The following year, he returned to the big screen in Feed as Michael Carter, a movie which he also co-produced and helped write. Alex acted in the Australian miniseries The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant as the title role's husband. Also released that year was a movie titled Man-Thing, in which Alex played Deputy Eric Fraser. His most recent roles in include that of Marcus Bohem in The Invisible (2007), and Marshall Connelly in August Rush (2008).

At 16 Sophia starred in a school production of Teachers written by Kevin Godber. Among those in attendance was Julian Fellowes, the Oscar winning writer of Gosford Park. Sophia was subsequently cast in the BBC production of The Prince & The Pauper on which Julian Fellowes worked on the script. Two years later Sophia was cast as young Saffron in the TV mini series Big Women. In 1999, after recently enrolling in Cambridge University to study philosophy, she got a small part in Mansfield Park playing Susan. Sophia was then cast as Agnes Fleming in the TV series Oliver Twist, after which she dropped out to pursue acting. Sophia then got a number of small parts in movies and television shows until 2003 when she got a supporting role in Underworld, then Out of Bounds & The Thunderbirds. Soon after, Sophia began working on Art School Confidential, and in 2006 she played the lead in Tristan & Isolde. She then returned to TV for several series, including Dr.Who, where she met former boyfriend actor David Tennant.

At 17 Shannyn left her home town of Reno, NV for a career in dance in Los Angeles. While attending Dance Unlimited, Shannyn began her alternate career as a D.J. in local clubs. In 1999 a casting director spotted Shannyn at a party and shortly thereafter she found herself with the backing of an influential Hollywood name and a slew of auditions. Many offers had no appeal to the established D.J. until A Knight's Tale came along; she determined she wanted the lead role and after six call backs, beat out the competition. Shannyn continues to D.J. every Tuesday night at a local club in L.A., but the rest of her time is filled with filming and travel.
